l  PEEK和PI作為新興的工程塑料材料，被證明是所有已知工程塑料中機械強度尺寸穩定性及耐高溫性能最好的，其中PEEK長期使用溫度達260℃，PI長期使用溫度更是高達300℃，且其具有優良的耐腐蝕性能，在中等強度的酸堿腐蝕環境仍可以運轉自如，故一般用於製作需要在比較嚴酷環境中精密運轉的軸承，其缺點是因材料本身比較昂貴，故使用成本較高，一般內外圈材料選用PEEK或PI，保持架材料為PTFE，PEEK或PI，滾珠一般為Zro2或Si3N4陶瓷球。
